As most of you know, I volunteer with the Lilith Fund, a reproductive equity foundation that provides financial assistance for low-income women who need help paying for abortions. Every year, we host the Reproductive Equity Awards and Silent Auction, a way to honor pro-choice activists in Texas, as well as an opportunity to raise money for the coming year.
This year, we will be honoring Sarah Wheat, VP of Community Affairs at Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region, and former Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Texas. (And a fellow Kenyon College alumna!)
If you would like to attend the Reproductive Equity Awards, click here to buy tickets. If you would like to buy an individual ($30) or student ($30) ticket, or if you cannot afford to attend but would like to make a smaller contribution just for the sake of supporting the organization, you can download this form (PDF) and pay by check (and hopefully we’ll get the single/student/other option up on the website soon).
The 2009 Reproductive Equity Awards will be held on April 23, 2009, from 6:30-9 p.m., at Mercury Hall in Austin, TX.
